which ICAO and FAA?

October 12, 2008

dear friend,
i am iman, i wanna know which standard is better for training pilot? icao or FAA?

do you know any flight school in asturalia with icao standard? please give me the website.

ICAO is the International Civil Aviation Organization, and licenses obtained under FAA regulations are ICAO compliant, as are nearly all other jurisdictions globally. With respect to Australia, and flight school that is duly licensed by the Australian CAA is ICAO compliant.

ICAO is simply a basic set of rules and treaties set forth by the UN and all its member nations. Each country is in charge of issuance of its own aviation certificates, however ICAO member nations all recognize the certificates issued by other ICAO member nations. Thus: A certificate issued by Australia allows a pilot to operate in the US (or Saudi Arabia, or Germany, or Tanzania, or any other ICAO member nation)
