Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang for FSX

August 20, 2009

Watch in HD! This is the recently released Cessna Citation Mustang from Flight1. I just got started with this plane and am still in the stages of studying the Garmin G1000 before doing too many flights. This video is just a quick run through of a startup.

Why not try to fly …
Why not try to fly the airplane like the real thing. That is: Do not overspeed! Good practice for when you get to fly the real one, or some other airplane as well. Ha.

    I don’t know if its …
I don’t know if its possible. I suggest you ask over at the Flight1 Mustang support forum.

Okay can i at least …
Okay can i at least shut the alarm off?

  4. SWFan77 on August 20th, 2009 2:32 am

    Aircraft …
Aircraft manufacturers do not allow you to remove the overspeed warning. Flight1 is trying to model their Mustang as accurately as possible thus you can’t remove the overspeed warning. The Cessna Mustang in real life does not have autothrottle, thus Flight1’s aircraft does not model such a feature.

    Nice video, I just …
Nice video, I just have two question. When at Cruising alt, ex: FL180, the speed strip on the PFD will show a red line going “up” starting at 250 knts, I know why its there, but my question is, How do you take it off so that i can accelerate to higher speeds without the overspeed alarm blaring in my ears? And seconde, How do you engadge autothrottle? *Sorry if i mispelled anything, I think you get the gist of what im saying 😉 *

    Like any other …
Like any other plane in FSX. You shut everything down, then save the flight. From that point on, when you want to start up from cold and dark you just load the flight.

    How did you start …
How did you start this up in the Cold & Dark state ?

    When ever my …
When ever my TrackIR works, i never remove yokes, pull up 2D views ect. Just makes it more realistic this way.. Too bad my TrackIR has a habbit of never wanting to bloody run…

    SWFan77, i’m sure …
SWFan77, i’m sure by now, you’ve learned you can “Remove” the Yokes in VC view. just click in the black square, where the Pole goes into the panel. they “get out of your way”
I could see your mouse hand moving over that area a few times, and it “turned into a hand” like you were just about to do it, but…….lol! you didn’t. just a thought. much easier getting to those switches in VC that way.
    cheers!

    I just bought this …
I just bought this Bird, the comp i am running it on atm is a Duel Core, and yeah, its all jumpy, and the sound keeps cutting out. I don’t lag with any other AC, even the PMDG 744. My Quad core is sent back to HP to get fixed. Even in the air the Mustang just jumps, with high detail up or down, it don’t matter. Any idea’s or suggestions?

    Actually I did find …
Actually I did find a way to do this. It’s not safetaxi, but it displays airport info, and runway info etc. so nevermind about the last comment.

  16. SWFan77 on August 20th, 2009 2:32 am

    That functionality …
That functionality is not in their version yet. However, since the programmed the Garmin from scratch, didn’t use any of Microsoft’s Garmin, there is a possibility such functionality will be added in the future.

    I have this plane …
I have this plane and it works fine now. I was wondering if you can display SAFETAXI information on the MFD? Like get an airport diagram on the MFD?

    The problem is your …
The problem is your cpu. FS is very cpu dependant, in fact the cpu is more important than the video card. FSX won’t run reasonably well unless you’re using a dual or quad core cpu clocked at around 2.4Ghz. For best performance the cpu should be clocked above 3Ghz. I’ve overclocked my C2D Intel processor to 3.6Ghz to get decent fps.

actually, there IS. ( in your Default Mooney, Baron 58, and Cessna 172) but………only thing is, it’s not NEARLY as modeled and cool, as this one! lol I just ordered my copy from Flight1 website (CD version) can’t wait till it arrives!
as far as the TRack IR Pro goes, had one.
sold it. it just didn’t work for me. too much
“moving around” with the Head, and everything was Jumping. couldn’t even get the switch panel to “sit Still” and grab with Mouse. very Frustrating
