Got something to say?

@gadget666 are you daft!? aviation equivalent of hitting another car at 5km/h? yea right! that had the potential to be lethal in many ways! the impact itself was no soft one, what if the pilot hit his head on the control panel? Any plane crash can turn lethal in an instant.
@gadget666 dude, that could easily kill people inside
Did everyone on the plane survive? Did everyone on the ground survive? I hope so!!! I hope no one got killed!!!
wot the fuck was all about that
@SenorSpode Definitely. Just what I was thinking! NOT you fucking idiot. You’re probably British.
@plane63 You’re absolutely right. The pilot should’ve punched out the windows and made his mechanic and two passengers flap their arms real hard. That would’ve carried them the extra mile to Merrill Field.
I’m surprised they stopped the game.
@vandrossfan ur mama
@plane63 I’m sure there were no more suitable places to land in such a scenario.
I would say landing an aircraft in the middle of a baseball game / soccer game isn’t exactly safe for everyone
@plane63 True, but what I was really emplying and trying to get at was that I value my life (and obviously others) a lot more than an object i.e. plane or how well i perform a landing in such a scenario.
@sk8drumdie0116 – you have to care about what happens to the plane… #1: you’re in the plane, #2: In this case, this guy would have to pay for any damage to his plane or possibly the plane he rented, #3: You could hurt other people in a ‘sloppy landing’ 😉
@plane63 Did the pilot survive (rhetorical)? Sloppy landing or not, I don’t care what the fuck happens to the plane.
Now thats good defense!!! Way to BE THE BALL.That pilot can fullback for me any time.
Now I can see why that happened. He doesn’t have a lot of time at 800 ft probably that was his only choice.
Oh, the stats: Thursday, July 31, 2003 in Anchorage, AK. Aircraft: Cessna 207, registration: N29CF. Injuries: 1 Serious, 1 Minor, 2 Uninjured. Trite to say, but any landing you can walk away from is a good landing…but if you can reuse the plane, it was a great landing.
Found the NTSB report and Google Earthed the crash site: pilot lost power at 800 feet AGL approaching Merrill Field to land. Neglect or no, he simply lost power & had to find a landing spot, fast. There was no other suitable spot when location, speed & altitude are factored. He was going to hit something, be it shacks, fences, backstops, trees, anything. N61* 12.265, W149* 52.633, going true east. Also consider that 800 feet altitude vanishes fast with no power, 4 people aboard & a warm day.
I agree but he needed to better align himself. My flight instructor and I both practice engine failures and in NORMAL cases, I don’t want to say that this failure didnt happen right after takeoff, but like I was saying NORMALLY I would go and choose a highway, field, something where there isn’t a baseball game going on. The FAA doesn’t praise a pilot who lands in the middle of a baseball game. And as you can c, he did a bad job landing it cuz the plane is torn up bad!

“yeah everybody are running over there to see if they can help somebody”
no its to see what happened.
I will take my own advice and I’ll avoid populated areas in the event of a forced landing. I pretty much already stated this in my first post; which is very easy to comprehend. Why so angry? Is the pilot your dad or your lover (or both)?
Take your own advice, idiot. What makes you think you could’ve done any better? I give the pilot points because he tried; you? Who the fuck are you to condemn someone for something you can’t change? Next time, think before YOU post, dumbfuck.
And FYI – this plane crashed because the “trained and disciplined” pilot ran it out of fuel. One tank was run dry while the other had 30 gallons. I routinely switch tanks every 15 minutes when sync the DG to compass. I feel bad for the guy but I wouldn’t ditch in a field with kids everywhere. Learn before you post.
You don’t know what I have. You can’t even spell license so stick to piloting keyboards and flipping burgers.
When you have no choice, due to power loss or engine failure, you choose the best spot you can with the least objects and make the best of it because you have no second chance. And it wasn’t a baseball field, it was a soccer field. And you call this pilot an idiot? There’s a reason why he has a licence and you don’t: unlike you, he is trained and disciplined.
I am pretty sure it did mr narrator 🙂
