Mechtronix President Hervé Discusses New R & D Center for Flight Simulation Technology
June 22, 2010
Mechtronix President Xavier Hervé explains how his companys new R&D center and recent expansion of manufacturing facility will enable the company to meet the needs of an expanding global market place for flight training technology. The president also discusses a current demand for Transition to Jet technology that is filling the manufacturing bays of his facilities and reflects positively on global demand for flight training technology. Hervé discusses how this key investment reflects the firms strong foundation and commitment to innovative engineering that is not limited to just its core development of flight simulation technology. He cites recent engineering work with L3 Comm and Alstom. Mr. Hervé also talks about how Mechtronix R&D focus was born in a Concordia University Laboratory twenty years ago with support from the Quebec Government and how its ongoing R&D funding support from programs like the PASI Program have helped it become the worlds third largest manufacturer of pilot training technology. This has helped the company maintain a strong engineering and research edge even when traditional funding has been difficult to find. Hervé presents this as a great example of how Canadian companies with a university and governments support can help create global companies within Canada, superior hi tech jobs in the region and even a new class of technology. www.mechtronix.com www.concordia.ca www.mdeie.gouv.qc.ca
