July 19, 2010

Flagstaff has got to be the most beautiful city I’ve been to since living in the US. In this clip, we leave Flagstaff and head out towards the Grand Canyon.

lol I don’t have mirrors on my bike, it eliminates the urge, but I do actually turn around often enough when riding/at stop lights to figure out whether people are gonna stop or not 😀

@DJCipster4BREAKS Yeah that sounds great. Just keep in touch and definately call or message me if your going to come out. The roads are awesome out here. The canyons provide for some great twisties. Only bad thing is the weather is really unpredictable.

At 5 minutes in, that was one hell of a caravan, you’ll never see anything like that in the UK

@siasinohio If it’s a car, and they’re not slowing down, I wanna make sure I can get out of the way if I’m about to get hit, and in group rides, I tend to look out for people behind me, make sure nobody goes down, or isn’t paying attention and rear-ending me if we’re coming to a sudden stop, it’s all preventative. Also, because of the camera in my face, I need to move my head to clearly see the mirror, that’s why there’s so much movement.

@siasinohio Yeah, sorry about that… Nathan is right…. I’ve become a little paranoid about checking my mirror, because one of the worst things that can happen that I don’t want to experience, is getting rear-ended… I’ve heard of crashes like that, people getting killed/injured, and that’s one crash you can really prevent if you’re alert… I would agree, I tend to overdo it, and I’m trying hard to not do it so much, but yeah… I’m looking for vehicles/riders behind me.

@nathan48310 That would’ve been sweet if you did that man. I got a friend that’s gonna be going to Colorado in August, and I was telling him I might come visit him, if I move down to AZ, time-permitted…. def. one state I’d love to visit, heard there’s some great riding in those mountains… so, we’ll keep in touch… we’ll be closer to each other if I move down as well.

@shobia99 Yeah, AZ is so much nicer than Michigan, better roads, great things to do, great scenery, but it gets really hot!

Did you ever find out what it was that almost hit you at 8:16? Chick’s throwing their panties at you again? LOL

  13. siasinohio on July 20th, 2010 7:29 am

@nathan48310 oh ok yea true i ride in groups too and ya do have to always check your mirrors its good to keep doing it while your rideing but man watching something like that drove me crazy

  14. nathan48310 on July 20th, 2010 8:14 am

Dude I am so bummed I couldn’t make this. Leave it to me to wreck my bike a month before I moved out to Colorado. Would of been perfect for me to ride out there and meet up with you.

  15. nathan48310 on July 20th, 2010 8:38 am

@siasinohio I can’t speak for him but I have ridden with him and know he is a very safe rider. That being said he is probably checking his mirrors. it’s kind of essential when riding in a group like that.

  16. siasinohio on July 20th, 2010 9:17 am

just to be asking why is it in this video when your rideing you keep looking to the right the camera keeps going to the right then straight then to the right then straight lol

  17. shobia99 on July 20th, 2010 9:24 am

you really are going to enjoy yourself down in AZ huh? i guess your ride meetups would be a bit more frequent.

  18. RedanWhiteRebel on July 20th, 2010 9:38 am

I have watched a lot of vlogs from this meet-up and its obvious you guys had a great time…this is another example of a great video from the trip and of how good the motorcycle vlogging community can be.

@nachomahn Yeah, I heard about that man, sucks… I should be out there again soon, and for good.

  25. nachomahn on July 20th, 2010 12:09 pm

I forgive you for forgetting my name that early in the trip mahn! We won’t forget each other now though — and I hope to see you out here again soon! And to think — I live in all that Flagstaff beauty, though some of its beauty was destroyed by a forest fire this past few weeks.

Got something to say?
