In an ILS, I would just take out the GPS from the yoke to have better visibility of the instruments. You don’t need the GPS on an ILS approach.

nice just b4 minmums it got a litt bit stragelling ,don’t have to level vsi to zero just – 100 or 200 and once the gs appreoachs start to inc. the rate of dec. hand on power can also be very affective anyway well done

no if they are on ifr the controller will warn them for traffic and by the looks of the airport it looks like c airspace which you need a radio and a transponder with mode c

i believe he is hour building his way to 1500. otherwise he won’t be needing an ATP course (judging from the term “training”) since he would’ve had an ATP license already

güzel bir video ama lövyeylen cok oynuyorsun, diger videolarinda da cok ilgimi cekti. Lövyeyi biraz daha sakin tutsan cok sahane olur

  13. windycloud23 on July 1st, 2010 8:27 pm

Who flies a 172 with both hands on the yoke? You were over powering the controls all the time there.

Even if they were on an IFR flight plan and were in visual meteorlogical conditions they should have still had the windshield clear for the safety pilot because VFR traffic wouldn’t necessarily be under ATC control. In VMC all aircraft are responsible to maintain visual separation even if on a IFR flightplan.

did they cover the windshield up? it looks cracked… you are doing instrument training yes?

Once you have completed ur training does the romance of flying soon end like when you have past youre driving test and the funs over. It seem like flying is better for a purphouse rather than for pleasure but its still great fying for fun. I don’t understand why some people say airline pilots have a boring job. I can think of way more boring jobs. Flying is not boring to me

it very well could be a skyhawk II which has a constant speed prop.

  18. AirDude1213 on July 1st, 2010 11:04 pm

Its not a 172, it has prop control.

He wasn’t the PIC, and the glareshield was only on his side of the window.

  20. AirDude1213 on July 2nd, 2010 12:05 am

If you look on the end, it was only up for his side.

jesus christ what a work out, lol Im a PP doing my IFR, sure you needed a cold one after that lol. Good one, Congrats to you.

I used to put up sectionals during my training so as not to cheat (or get visual cues out the window). If need to make it hard during training, because in IMC there is no way to cheat.

have you ever heard of a hood!? putting a glareshield up to simulate ifr is dangerous and plain retarded. not to mention illegal

  24. BerkBingol on July 2nd, 2010 1:54 am

    This was an IFR Flight.

    Thanks for comments.

Perhaps you and your instructor should check the FARs. If this was a practice ILS, and you were VFR, than putting the glareshield in the windscreen is entirely illeagal. The only situation under which you would have been ok to do this was if you were actually on an IFR flightplan. Why is this illegal? Because the PIC is require by FARs to maintain visual seperation between you and other traffic AT ALL TIMES. Sorta difficult to do that with the glareshield in the window.

Got something to say?
