This plane now comes with a switch for flaperons. You toggle the switch and there is another slide switch on the TX that controls the amount of flap. Really cool.

mecci22….thanks! I put in “art tech cessna 182 brushless” in the search space above for YouTube searches and found a few vids where different folks have done just what you are looking for with the exact plane you have. I do not have an Art-Tech Cessna, so, you would probably be best answered by those that show up in the above search. Good Luck!

    vERY nICE WELL DONE!!
I have a question, I have a similiar plane (cessna 182 from ART-TECH) I would like to convert my brushed motor 400 to a brushless one !! What do you suggest??

so thats the out of the box cessna?

it seems pretty quick. im thinking of buying 1 as a lazy flyer, any tips/suggestions?
i fly a parkzone mustang so not much of a begginer.

The flaps are really “flaperons”…that is, using the airlerons as flaps. I had to use a servo wire for each airleron servo (since this plane came with a y-wire from the RX to both servos). My radio will allow flaperons if I plug one servo into the airleron channel and one into channel 6. So, nothing extra was needed except seperate wires for the two wing servos. 🙂

Yes I have the same model and was contemplating putting bigger wheels on so it could land in bumpy grass. Let me know if you find some nice big wheels that would work in grass for takeoff/landing with this plane, I would like to buy them too. Thanks! Nice landings by the way, and how did you hook up those flaps? Did you buy a different controller and add an extra servo?

  13. whistlingbirds on July 2nd, 2010 2:21 am

Yes, I removed them. I really like the looks of them, but the front one would scrape on the pavement on almost every landing, and sometimes on takeoff when the power is applied. The front wheel moves a little backward when the plane is pushed forward, or lands a little hot or rough, not to tight a setup, and therefore scrapes. And, I’m hoping to put larger wheels on her so she can land in the grass or dirt. 🙂

Did you take your wheel covers off? Why?
