Back in LGB, finishing the trip. Cessna 400

Here we finally got back to Long Beach after about a total flying time of 7 hours and seeing Las Vegas and San Francisco (and Bakersfield ;-). It was a fantastic trip and once more I learned how important it is to make SAFE DECISIONS.

    I never pay attention to airspeed on landing at LGB. What’s the need, it’s a long runway, come in hot and bleed it off. Airspeed, who gives a crap about it.

    The speed brakes are for scrubbing off excessive speed on the approach. They are not necessary for landing, but they may be used. As with all landings attention to air speed is critical.

    What are the approach speed and stalling speed?

    No I just always apply the Speed brakes right after touchdown….

    Speed brakes for landing? Does the POH call for this?
