Night landing is tricky! I got VERY suprised when I did my first night landing (see my vids 😉 ). Thanksfully my instructor was there otherwise that would have been a nice spine compression landing! LOL

GoNavy311 is probably one of the most arrogant pricks on here!! So nobody worry about taking him seriously!

Okay, look fellas, I’m not gonna get into any kind of argument here, I’m just calling it as I see it, and you’re absolutely right, I don’t know any of you or what your experiences are, so you might as well forget I said anything because I will not deal with irrationality. Safe flying everybody!

500+ landings in 150 hours TT? You take his word on that? Not trusting my own math, I asked three other pilots.

One owns a 172SP, another is a retired Navy pilot, and the third is a currently active corporate pilot that probably has more hours in more types of aircraft than most of us will ever see.

All of them said, in one fashion or another, “No way”.

See, you and I agree that there was nothing wrong with this landing. It’s only the internet phony that is trying to criticize something he knows nothing about.

BTW, nice observation about the landing lights, too.

  16. Fait2 on September 25th, 2010 3:46 am

I repeat, you are a liar. You offer nothing to prove one word you have said. My experience has nothing to do with the fact that you make claims that far more experienced pilots than I, or you will ever be, say they are blatant BS.

  17. Fait2 on September 25th, 2010 3:55 am

FYI, I have been a pilot in real life for over 30 years. So nothing you say will impress me.

I know very well, probably far better than you, that flight sims, even in commercial and military sims (I have used both) are not the same as real world.

I have real experience and probably far more “room to talk” than you will ever have. So be sure YOU know what you’re talking about before you criticize others.

I was probably flying a 172 before you were born, so get over yourself.

Yeah this looked like a fine landing, especially whereas Cessnas weren’t made to land at night. The landing profile in them is too low with such a nose-high attitude. Even with great approach and runway lighting, on a really dark and overcast night, it just doesn’t sit well. Your best bet would have to be to get your hands on a better set of landing lights, I didn’t even see any here.

Wow lots of angry people here LOL! I take GoNavy311 at his word, he’s a pilot. Some people like to be hard on others– as we should be hard about ourselves when flying. Be safe 🙂

  21. Fait2 on September 25th, 2010 5:57 am

I think you are a liar and have never flown any aircraft at any time. So you are already trying to weasel out of it.

My replies have not been ridiculous, but your increasingly shrill responses have been. To paraphrase Shakespeare, “Methinks he doth protest too much!”

  22. GoNavy311 on September 25th, 2010 6:36 am

Yeah how hilarious that I’m a pilot who doesn’t have a digital camera. Man, I just can’t help myself from laughing. You’re really hilarious! I also don’t own a jetski, I’m out of bananas at the moment, I need more toothpaste, I don’t have a Ferrari, and I haven’t yet gone to grad school. So yeah I can afford to fly but I don’t yet have those ‘other’ things. Unlike most other pilots… ? and now I’m dying from laughter.
You said it best, if there’s no need for me to upload my landings, why do it?

  23. GoNavy311 on September 25th, 2010 6:49 am

I don’t recall you asking me about where my landings have been. You asked me about videos, a cursory look at my profile will reveal I have no videos uploaded at all. Maybe that’ll change tomorrow. If you’re curious to know where I’ve flown, here goes: KRAL, KAJO, KAVX, KRIR, KSKA, KNKX, KSDM, KSAN, KMYF, KREI, KBLH, KPSP, KTRM, KCRQ, KSBD, KCNO, KRIV, KF70, KHMT. I might be leaving out a few. You don’t have to believe me. In fact that would help you write even more ridiculous responses.

  24. Fait2 on September 25th, 2010 7:40 am

No one here will be holding their breath waiting for a video from you. You’re saying you can afford to fly, but not a digital camera? ROFLMAO!

  25. Fait2 on September 25th, 2010 7:56 am

If you were really interested in keeping things civil, you would not use insults like “your philosophy towards airmanship sucks”.

Interestingly, you continue to evade the question, “Where are your landings?” I wonder if that is because you have never been at the controls of any aircraft but are just another internet coward hiding behind his keyboard?

Your attitude has been hostile from the beginning, if you bother to read your own posts.

Got something to say?
