FSX Carenado Cessna 172N Lilydale to Healesville ORBX FTX OZx

September 29, 2010

In this video we are flying from YLIL Lilydale, Victoria, Australia. Our flight is to a very small field 5nm from YLIL called Healesville. Healesville consists of a strip and a single hangar shed. It is challenging to land here because the airfield is hard to track visually (it is not in the GPS database) and due to surrounding peaks. Our course from YLIL is on a heading of 090 degrees for 5nm. The video gives a short peak at the WONDERFUL scenery from ORBx and OZx. Apologies that take-off is edited, this was because of problems with Fraps, which turned the t/o into a slide show. (Rest of the vid is fine).

Very enjoyable liked your commentary , I too love Lillydale have seen improvements from before VOZ to ORBX FTX today, having relations in Dandenong have an interest the downunder, my first Ozzy scenery was Melbourne and surrounds with landclass for FS98. I totaly agree ORBX scenery is the best because unlike photographic scenery fine that it is, has no seasons which gives ORBX the edge. My sort of cheat for directions is to have Flight1 FSDiscover! on screen from time to time.

Well Lilydale is one of the freeware FTX airfields, and is one of the best so I was flying there because of that. I then downloaded the latest version of the OZx fields and the docs list all the airfields. I noticed that this place ‘Healesville’ was only 5 miles from Lilydale, so wanted to check it out. Being from England I don’t know these places for real, but their heaps of fun in FSX! Thanks

What made you fly from Lillydale to Healesville? I think what I’m trying to find out is… how do you know about those 2 places! (I’m from Melb btw)

The Mooney is a lot more fun, but the C152 has a nicer VC.
