Can you imagine sitting at the crossing in your car waiting to get across?

I did, lived at the Downtowner b,ock and a half south of the tracks. Believe it or not you are eventually able to sleep through the train noise.

Flagstaff is beautiful, and the trains make it sweeter.

Haha, this really made us laugh. We spent two days in Flagstaff at a hotel near the railroad. I must say that I also loved that sound! Much more charming than the airport I live “next to”.
We also made a video of the loooong trains, but my video isn’t QUITE as long as this.
Managed to go downtown Flagstaff before we left. I loved this place. Thank you for sharing the video!

I was conceived on an AT&SF and I LOVE this sound. I could sleep right next to the tracks in Flag 365 nights a year.

I remember being in Flagstaff for the first time, and lodging in a motel near the railway.
    Now I sleep way outside of town,when I’m there….thats a mistake you won’t make twice,lol.

Flagstaff was built for the railroad…and the locals love the sound…trains are fast becoming a thing of the past, and Flagstaff residents have the advantage of experiencing this mode of transportation first hand! Noisy or not, it is what Flagstaff was built on. I saw the end: three minutes, twelve seconds! LOL Great vid! Thanks!

Well, it’s even worse! there’s about one or two trains passing every hour!!! And they’re really noisy with the big horn 😉

  21. Flyermac on September 28th, 2010 12:21 pm

Imagine a train like this per day, everyone must have its schedule on note to pass the rail crossing before or after when it comes!
