T-Rex: ALBERTA Overdrive
September 15, 2010
t-rex-effects.com The Alberta remains a classic of the T-Rex stable. It was their first commercial pedal and was later drawn on for the Møller’s sound in 2003. The Alberta pays homage to the great green drive we all know and love, and it is a great low to medium drive that sounds particularly good (IMO) with single coil pickups. Here you’ll hear it with a Clapton signature and a Floyd Rose Redmond Model 5, both through the clean channel of my Laney VC50. Of course, the Alberta can be used to give an amp’s break-up channel a good kick in the behind and this is something that I hope to demonstrate at a later date. Thanks for watching, as always. Brett Kingman.

Got something to say?
@teddypuppet505 The cables in this clip are Neutrik/Mogami custom made for me by my tech. I now use Providence cables which are better still.
what brand are your cables?
@jb1563700 I’ve already got a Keeley modded TS808 so I guess I’d be better off going for the Mudhoney, just as it gives me something more different.
@Rizo619
Depends on what you want. The Mudhoney is grittier and, in Boost mode, a lot more fuzzy and nasty.
this or the mudhoney ii? such a difficult decision!
man i can’t make up my mind between this and the moller.
Damn I’m thinking of the Alberta or Mudhoney, but I’m tending to the Alberta…. BTW this is my kinda pedal demo! thanks!
nice tee
sounds a heck of a lot better than my modded tubescreamer with humbuckers at least.
this is an understatement but,
nice tone
Great review and great playing! Love your videos!
