BNSF on the Transcon in Flagstaff, AZ

October 12, 2010

The station in Flagstaff, AZ is one of the greatest places in the west to sit and watch trains. Plenty of traffic, multiple grade crossings, and being up close to the rails – legally! This is filmed in Summer 2004 and is something I pulled out of the archives just for You Tube. I was going to produce an AZ train DVD, but an accident with all the film left me not much to work with. This is one thing that survived.

Wow my city’s much like this. Desert like, and very legal to get close, to the myriad of tracks!

Were you legal? On the street or sidewalk behind the gate? Nice photos. Thank you.
Why blow horn and noise pollute when other train is already crossing?

    #1 – Yeah, it is.
#2 – Always watch your back around trains. If you were a railfan, you would know that.

you’re lucky nothing was hanging off those cars and hit your dumb ass. That close can’t be legal.

It’s always a plus when it happens. i didn’t have my scanner that day or else I would have known the other one was coming and gotten on the other side of the tracks. Still turned out okay since the closer train was pulling baretables by the time the second one showed up.
