John’s Video Blog 006 – YCDR Caloundra in Sibwings Cessna Bird Dog
October 9, 2010
More info at fullterrain.com – This is an 8-minute look at Caloundra Airport, Orbx’s latest release, and also a sneak peek at the Sibwings Cessna Bird Dog, due for release soon. The video begins with a ‘walk’ from the Queensland Air Museum over to the GA parking area. We then jump into the delightfuly “used” Bird Dog and do a quick half-circuit over Pelican Waters before landing back at the airport. If you like your airport ultra-detailed and immersive, and your aircraft so real you can see the paint flaking, this is a must-see video. Got something to say?
Instead of doing 1 airport at a time why not work on sections.. for example, north america, central, south, europe?
@orbxtube Endorsement is well deserved. Please continue the development. The texture flow demo is just spectacular. I’ll stay tuned. Looking forward to more blogs…
@pedrosura Well that is quite a nice endorsement, thank you! Make sure you invest in an Intel i7 (overclocked), a 1GB GPU and Windows 7 64-bit. That will ensure a nice experience for a few years 🙂
I had never bought into FSX until I saw your videos. You guys are breathing new life into this sim. I will buy a computer just to to run your software. WELL DONE!!!
actually I turned it in and got a new TrackIR 5 🙂
Can you walk around and enter a plane/chopper on command…like Grand Theft Auto…
In some missions in FSX when you get close to a plane it puts you in it as the story progresses.
Really? The GPS and NAV data is included in the payware version. If you don’t have it, then it does not show up since MS did not include it as a default airport.
Thank you for the comments, it’s appreciated. We’re working very hard to cover many areas in the coming months/years.
Not sure what you mean?
Yes we are doing NorCal and SoCal later in 2010.
Sorry to hear that 🙁
Meantime, use the SHIFT+O key combo in FSX to simulator head movement.
it sucks my TrackIR stopped working. It just stopped working someday, when I turn on the software the blue light doesnt light up. And it sucks cuz I payed so much money for it
@mozartman2000 well they aim to build the whole world…
any plans to do California sceneries?
I’m Speechless…
One thing, is it hard to program the option when your close to an airplane to you can press like “1” to enter or something (Like in some of the default missions in FSX)?
hey i cant find that air port on the gps
I would pay lots of $ if you guys ever reworked the entire FSX terrain….lots of money, please don’t stop doing what you guys are doing. You are by far the best out of everyone out in the field
Thx!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Yes, we all have REX 2.0 and love it.
Do you guys use REX with FTX ?
Beautiful scenery!
This scenery will definitely get me flyin’ around Australia more often. You guys make the best scenery for flight sim! Can’t wait for NORWESTPAC as well!
im using Windows 7 32-bit and i want to get HD vids but cant get them to upload all the way and I know i have enough room it justs quits
