HD Captain Sim 757-200/300/Freighter FSX Startup Checklist

November 14, 2010

***NOT FOR FLIGHT!!!*** ***READ THE VIDEO COMMENTS IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION*** Your question has probably already been answered 5 times there. This is the remake of my Captain Sim 757 for FSX Startup procedures, now in HD. Because I took the time to explain a few things (rather than cluttering the screen with annotations), this video ended up about twice as long as the original. I will think about making more videos for the rest of the lists, or at least those that are practical in a sim environment. Just making about 30 minutes of tutorial videos and editing them and such took an entire weekend. So, with me doing lots of flight training right now, it may not be possible for me to sacrifice another weekend any time soon unless the weather is bad. Enjoy and send comments if you have questions or whatever. I’ll try to help answer them when able.

Thanks for the video. Very educating stuff. I was wondering if I do need to do these stuff if I want to fly the plane? I’m a total newbie with FSX and I don’t want to be doing this much stuff to fly. Maybe later but not yet.

    Hey man,

I’ve got a really annoying problem. I cant seem to get the autopilot to work correctly, not only is it really weird to activate but it also doesnt disconnect properly. What i mean is when i disconnect (pressing Z and hearing “autopilot disengaged”), i cant move or control any of the flight controls. do you have any suggesstions?

@pianomanmaestro Hi – I had this same problem. The only thing I can suggest is if you do not have it already, get FSX Service Pack 2. After this uninstall and reinstall the 757 again. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for these tutorials! I always strive to make my flying as realistic as possible. But I would like to know, how I get the altitude call-outs for landing to work. Or dose the captain sim 757 not have that function?

  24. Darryl39345 on November 14th, 2010 3:34 pm

shouldnt your inital speed in the MCP be V2 + 5 or 10?

  25. IsraeliXdude on November 14th, 2010 3:41 pm
