Klon Centaur Professional Overdrive
December 14, 2010
www.klon-siberia.com The views of our host are not necessarily my own, although there’s no way I’d fork out the sort of money these rather beautiful but large overdrives are currently commanding. It is not true bypass but has a great buffer. You’ll need an old school 9V One Spot adapter to power it up. It does a fabulous clean boost and a good overdrive. I’ve demonstrated it here with a Tele running into the clean channel of my Laney to try and keep it unadulterated.

Got something to say?
Hey guys, any idea where I could find a Klon???
WOW !!!!!!
@Burgerman666
haha that cracked me up!
I just bought that pedal, actually no I traded something with this. Your daughter is funny and very cute.
@Burgerman666 indeed… learned a lot about burgerman today!
love your vids, man. tell sadie i agree with her about the klon
@mistersnaredrum Heheh. Sorry!! Same applies though! Haha. Man, my guilty past..
@Burgerman666 i meant coca cola!
@mistersnaredrum Haha. While I don’t condone its procurement for a second, I think you’ll find that coke is actually cheaper and far easier to get than a Klon. They’ll both give you a boost, though: one for about 20 minutes, the other forever. I’ll take the latter, thanks. 🙂
man, this pedal is the new ‘new coke’. causing all sorts of bother at the moment, which is odd as it’s been out for a while, hasn’t it?
sounds nice, but i’m still unsure if it’s worth ALL the hype.
the clean boost is lovely though.
@lookingatcrap Nah. Just borrowed that one. Could never afford it. Wouldn’t mind though!
you always have the coolest stuuf
i have a 1spot 9v adapter and how come it only works with one pedal…i thought its supposed to connect pedals together because when i try and connect my OD pedal and my Wah, which ever one its not connected to doesnt work
who really “needs” pedals when you got chops like this.
Your playing outweighs any pedal’s tone full value.
Your demos are awesome, and i get a sense of what they can do…….and i’m a pedal noob, so i usually don’t know tit from tat.
i will be getting one pedal in part to your demo of it when i can afford to do so, and am looking forward to it.
keep up the stellar work !!!
I doubt it would even fit into those pedal brands unless we’re talking about very old examples. It’s an old-school plug. 🙂
is the 1 spot 9v adapter reliable? it wont ruin a boss stombox or dunlop pedal will it?
What is it that is ‘really funny’ to you? And it’s not ‘the ONLY overdrive made the DOESN’T color or compress your sound at ANY volume.’ Ever heard of a Tim?
This is really funny. When you consider what a just the “run-of-the-mill” guitar costs, and then complain about the cost of a Klon. It’s the ONLY overdrive made that DOESN’T color or compress your sound at ANY volume. (which, if you read the directions, tells you that it’s at it’s best
when your TUBE amp is turned up to the
“just breaking up” level.
I’ve had them all, and this pedal has NO competition. Period!
o well its ok thx for answering back
Nope, I’ve never been able to afford a Klon OR a Landgraff. This stuff just shows up on my doorstep with a ‘please help’ not attached and then they come and take it away again! Heheh. That’s a bit rough, isn’t it? I wouldn’t mind checking out a Landy though. I believe they’re pretty good.
sounds pretty good!!! and reminds a bit to a TS-9 but i dont know…have u ever tried a Landgraff dynamic overdrive??? is it better than a KLON? whats your opinion? thx
the Klon is a GREAT pedal, but it really does shine at GIGS more than in demos. it’s usually a pretty subtle pedal at low volume, but when you are at the gig cranked up, it really sounds great. sure is expensive though, and MANY other pedals that are much cheaper will get you very close…..
This is the only pedal that I don’t mind it not being true bypass. The buffer makes your tone amazing. It’s hard do describe but I can’t live without it in my chain anymore.
it does look like a toaster
but a very beautiful toaster
and one that sounds pretty good
seen them for $1000AU
dont think my gear – or my bank account – can justify this
i bet it makes some lovely raisin toast though
thanks for the vid Brett
Nah, it’s not mine unfortunately. A dealer friend loaned it to me for the shoot. The Klon is THE Great pedal. I’d purchase one if I could afford it, but, like you, I’ve had an injury and it has cost me dearly. Maybe next year. Especially as it doubles as a toaster! Heheh. Congrats on your new acquisition and I hope, sincerely, that you recover from your injury fully and quickly. Cheers, BK.
Did you just get that? Mine should be arriving any day now. Too bad I won’t be able to play it due to my recent injury. About 12-14 weeks to get one, but it will be worth it.
Great demos as always!
