I went to The Village Cafe in Richmond, Va, which was featured on 3Ds, and it was horrible. I should send pictures of the “BBQ pulled pork” platter I ordered. It looked like feces on my plate. I ignored that, but it was not as “BBQ” as the menu had suggested, and it tasted like it was soaked in watered down BBQ sauce. The music was so loud, my mother and I had to yell back and forth to each other. Pass-thru area had dirty dishes and old food, every where. Sticky floors. Good service.

@firethower99 so true, i mean on the show they make such a big deal about custom making stocks and gravies, and using freshest possible ingredients, and marinating for days, etc, but when the cameras are gone they go back to mostly prepared canned bases for their dishes

The chef of Salsa Brava went on to publish a book and he is rolling with the “As Featured on Food Network” slogan in EVERYTHING he does, he repainted the restaurant to look even more tacky, and the quality of the food and service has gone down. I preferred the second location he had before he sold it to some other guy, as service and food quality was far more consistent. The other restaurant reviewed, Brandy’s, despite the nut job “chef” is still the same – not over-board.

I wonder how much of these places guy goes to isn’t as good as it’s seen on t.v. they know their going to be on t.v so they make more and pay more attention to detail. then the cameras leave and the quality goes back to the way it was.

That lady in the end reminds me of Tina Fey

Got something to say?
