@chrisskates1996 the rudder pedals are adjustable so It doesn’t matter what your height is in this plane.

  4. jackolabito on February 25th, 2011 8:58 pm

@bibiwannafly I don’t really understand what your asking but the diamond da40 has wings designed not to stall. If you look on the leading edge you se some little triangle bars almost and they push air over the rest of the wing. It will stall for a second but then it just slows down.

Why do you keep flying with the stall speed at such a low altitude?

  7. dakes20 on February 25th, 2011 11:10 pm

using a glass cockpit on day 2, shouldnt even use them, go old school, use real instruments, dont use that gps unless you need to, be a real pilot

  8. chrisskates1996 on February 25th, 2011 11:46 pm

how tall do you have to be to fly an airplane like this???

  9. jackolabito on February 25th, 2011 11:51 pm

@TonyDog360 its actually a good way to learn because you get your glass endorsement as well as your ppl. plus most modern commercial and GA aircraft have glass panels. its just a matter of soft keys vs. knobs. and glass is way more fun to fly!

what model Da40 are you flying?

  11. jofus2019 on February 26th, 2011 12:50 am

I HATE Class Panels in a Private Aircraft…(They’re ok for the big jets)

  15. appleglory on February 26th, 2011 3:18 am

learning in a conventional aircraft is better than glass. glass should come after

@Inova07 Well I learned in a Stearman Biplane, it does not get anymore old school then that. unless jumping off a bridge, flapping your arms with wings strapped on counts. open canopy, zigzag down the runway, and over the nose looking out the side to land. A true stick and rudder plane pilot. best lesson I ever got.

  22. Inova07 on February 26th, 2011 6:41 am

@ljackso by the way, I never said I wasn’t judgmental. I do not claim to be something I am not. I am judgmental, as most humans are, I just don’t hide it.

  23. Inova07 on February 26th, 2011 7:29 am

@ljackso How was anything that I said being judgmental? This was not a personal attack on you. Sadly, some flight instructors do milk their students for money. Many people have paid WAY too much for training when they shouldn’t have. And your typical of a jesus freak to judge someone right off the bat, and yes I left jesus not capitalized for a reason. When people like you stop taking crap so personal, and think you have to change everyone, this world would be much better off.

  24. ljackso on February 26th, 2011 8:14 am

@Inova07: WOW, you are very judgmental. I was just quoting the price I got from the local flight school. I got my PPL a long time ago. Have a blessed day.

Too bad I could not see any aircraft detail, even at 1080p on my 32″ monitor. Also, I could not hear speech, although you would probably have to tie into the microphones to get it.

xStalkerxx asked about sun glasses. On a bright day you need protection for your eyes, and you can still see, even with glasses darker than amber.

Got something to say?
