Strange approach, Cessna 560 Citation Ultra HD
March 5, 2011
16.01.11, 15:18 The Cessna made a very close curve just before landing at the aiport Bern-Belp (LSZB). Wath do you think about it? Was it a less unnormal approach than I thought?.. Filmed with a Nikon D3100 all rights reserved by fantaa1993

Got something to say?
@Scote1992 in this case I think it was just for fun. because there is not much traffic at the airport of berne and I dont remember that a bigger plane landed after this 560.
so thanks again for your answer 🙂
@fantaa1993 I think it’s fun to do, and I bet the pilots of that jet did too. For me, since I was in a 172 I was landing on a smaller runway doing touch and go’s. The tower had a regional jet coming in on the bigger runway and wanted me to land and get back in the pattern sooner so they could land the jet. It was either that or having me extend my downwind. So most of the time, yes it’s to help smooth out operations.
@Scote1992 thanks for answering.
but in a normal private flight, (non practice) it is just for save time.. or do you see an other reason?
cheers
it’s called a short approach, you practice it when you go for your pirvate pilot license. i’ve been asked to do it multiple times by the tower
@yisasakopaka thanks for your comments!
this cessna also made like a 270° turn but it took a moment until i had my camera ready for filming, so unfortunately you cant see the whole approach 🙂
not a normal approach iva seen one do that and it was the same family of citatons. that was a nice landing
ive seen one make a sharp 270° turn and dive down to land. Not a normal approach but smooth
@LuftfahrtMilitar ..it could be 🙂
thanks for watching!
Perhaps the pilot was in a hurry? Or he wanted to show off 🙂 Either way, I think that was a perfect landing!
@matthiashaenni Ohja.. 🙂
@MwMoviesHD Indeed it was quite a good landing! Thanks for your comment!
