    @JuMpEnSwiPeZ
In the Uk there are three classes of licence. NPPL, PPL and CPL.. The NPPL requires the lowest class of medical, PPL a stricter class two and CPL requires a class one.
In terms of tests, there are five written exams for a private pilots licence and fourteen if you plan to do a CPL with a view to an ATPL.
    Hope that helps. 🙂

It had some bad damage long before you took up flying but must have been repaired rather then written off. Happy flying.

I had the same fear of flying, I’m doing my second Solo Land away on Sunday, the more you do it the easier it gets.

Chill factore u mean. Now i know which diretion to look. Two of my passions are snowboarding and aviation, so whenever i go snowboarding, i try to look for planes, but its never busy so i haven’t seen any gin into barton before! My aviation friend told me about some guy flew really low as if he was goin to crash into the motorway next to chill factore, do u kno if thats true or not?

The only way to overcome a fear is to face it and conquer it. Landing tripped me up in my first lesson, and I’ve flown commercial and with other pilots in small planes quite a bit, and I have tons of simulator time… Flying is one of the greatest joys known to mankind… face that fear, get a discovery flight from an instructor near you. 🙂

How can you not feel scared landing in a 150??? I have a love for avation and desire to become a pilot but sadly i have a fear of fyling

I took my PPL test in G-BHRB. Great aircraft but always flew a little nose high at the same airspeeds as the other 152’s..
I trained with John Stamper as a PPL, and did my IMC with Dave Hurt.

no awpu still flys but i prefer the new bhrb did you learn their if yes who taught you

  13. ftimesf on July 29th, 2011 12:42 pm

It was G-AYGC.. I have many hours in G-AWPU though.. Sadly I remember hearing PU had been in an accident and not sure if it’s still flying.

  14. ftimesf on July 29th, 2011 12:47 pm

No, it was G-AYGC but I have many hours in my log book in G-AWPU.. I’m not sure if PU has been written off. I know it was in an accident some time ago.

Well congrats on your first solo, I know how frightening an experience it can be. A few more solos and trust me, you won’t need the ski slope to find the field. 🙂

  18. mattay181 on July 29th, 2011 4:02 pm

yeah i just did my solo and i use the ski slope as my landmark for landing on 27left

  19. ftimesf on July 29th, 2011 4:16 pm

OOoh what a critical judge… Touched down on Main wheels.. I’d only say flare was about 3 feet too high on that approach.. Most of the time you can’t even feel the wheels touch.. haha!

  20. Flannybob on July 29th, 2011 4:25 pm

Not bad, 7/10 for landing. approach ok, round out and flai a little shallow.

  21. ftimesf on July 29th, 2011 5:04 pm

Yeah, you’re rght.. I’ve seen it from the near the bottom of the low level route..

  22. Tomtheflyboy on July 29th, 2011 6:01 pm

That Ski slope is a perfect landmark for Barton, if it wasn’t for that, I’d only see the field when I was right on top of it lol

Got something to say?
