JFK Airport: Short and Long Term Parking Options
March 1, 2010
When we are flying to exotic places for vacation, or even stressful conferences for work, the last thing we need is more stress or more hassles. Getting transportation to and from the airport can be just that. Buses are unreliable, and carrying your luggage on them can prove problematic. Even trains can be delayed, making you miss your flight. While taxis and car services can be convenient, they are very expensive. It seems that the only surefire way of making it to the airport on time at an affordable price is to take control of the wheel and drive yourself.
Not so fast, you might say, what about the hassle of driving to and from the airport and dealing with finding affordable parking? We have all been there, circling around the airport, searching for a lot that is not going to break the bank, to no avail. So we head back to the airport parking lot, since we do not want to waste any more time, and pay the high airport lot prices just because we are scared of missing our flight. Well, not anymore! Now you can search online and find airport parking lots near dozens of airports in the country for discount prices. Online sites provide detailed information of all the lots in the vicinity of the airport with short and long term parking options available. They also give addresses and directions to the lots for your convenience. The best part of it all is that you can reserve a spot online. We all love making reservations; they give us a sense of accomplishment, completion, and best of all, a guarantee.
JFK Airport has two parking lot options available off-site: SmartPark JFK and AirPark JFK. Both lots are less than a mile from the airport, and provide a shuttle service to and from the airport. If you are worried about your luggage, don’t be, they also offer curb-to-curb services as well as luggage assistance. The details provided online are comprehensive, and they even have addresses and driving directions to the lot of your choice.
Avoid the hassles of airport transportation and parking onsite, by finding a JFK airport parking rate online today!
Truly Compare Airport Parking Prices and More

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING UK AIRPORT PARKING.
Compare or Beware.
When considering parking your car at any UK airport you need to be aware of the possible pitfalls when putting your hand in your pocket. Nowadays more than ever it’s important to check and compare things properly. By comparing car parks you can nearly always find the best price, but not only this, you can get up to date information on things like car park security measures, car park location, bus transfer times and car park facilities. For some people it’s not always about finding the cheapest car park, some people want the utmost convenience or the most comprehensive security measures for example, so a website which allows you to compare all of these is a website which truly compares. All of these things can make your travelling experience a lot easier, it just takes a couple of minutes homework.
Know what to do when you get there.
It does not end there though… you will also need to consider what sort of arrival and departure procedures you need to go though and this is what some websites fail to let you know. If you’re parking your car at Heathrow or Gatwick for example you can find yourself with a massive selection of different car parks to choose from and a lot of them have different procedures. For example some require you to arrive at a reception area, some others require you to use the credit card or debit card you used for booking online to enter the car park and some really up to date car parks now work on a car number plate recognition system.
There is also the Meet and Greet options which nearly always require you to phone just before arriving at the airport terminal and also require you to phone again when you’re just leaving the baggage pick up area. So as you can see it’s vital that when you book your airport parking you find a site which not only compares the price and security etc… but also makes sure you get all the other information to hand such as telephone numbers, addresses and arrival and departure procedures to make your experience as simple as possible. Some websites out there can offer you the very best chance of getting things right the first time so make sure you take your time to look properly.
Know your Terminal.
Another not so well known issue when booking airport parking is making sure you have the correct car park which serves the terminal you are using. For example if you are looking for Heathrow airport parking then it is especially important because there are five terminals to choose from. Make sure you check the information on the car park and make sure the transfer bus goes to the correct terminal. Can you imagine getting on the shuttle bus only to find that it has taken you to the wrong terminal !
So always read the car park information very carefully, the better websites out there will always have a “More Information” button for you to click on to get every piece of information you need.
Pre book Online and Save.
It’s no exaggeration to say that by pre booking online you can save as much as 60% compared to the gate price. The gate price is the price individual car parks will charge you if you simply turn up on the day to park and pay. Most of the major car parks at the major airports will always keep some parking spaces free for such eventualities, but rest assured you will pay a lot more. For example if you wanted Gatwick airport parking in the summer months for two weeks you could choose “Airparks” which is off airport and pay £64.99 by pre booking online, however if you just turned up on the day you would pay £135.00, that’s an amazing saving of £70.01. Another very commonly used car park at Gatwick is “Summer Special North” which serves the North terminal, if you wanted to use this car park for the same period it would cost you £82.80 when pre booked as apposed to the turn up and pay price of £121.50. So as you can see the advantages of pre booking is very obvious and well worth doing.
You would think that saving so much money would be reason enough to pre book but there is also another less known reason for pre booking your airport parking especially at the larger airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester. When you pre book airport parking you are ensuring that a parking space is available for your car on your given dates. It is true that car parks do set aside some parking bays for people who do turn up on the day but these can and do get taken up especially in the summer months. Can you imagine turning up at the car park and finding that the car park is full, yes you could try another car park but what if you’re running slightly late for example or what if the next car park is even full.
Stay Overnight On or Near the Airport Before You Fly.
One of the best things about staying in a hotel on or near to the airport the night before you fly apart from starting your holiday a day earlier, is that you can seriously wake up the day of your departure much more relaxed and refreshed, your bags are already packed and you’re already at the airport. Staying in a hotel is especially useful if you have a very early flight time, imagine having to be at the airport for say four or five in the morning, who wants to get up at two or three and then drive all that way. For example lets say you want to book Manchester airport parking in summer for two weeks, for ON airport parking this would cost you anything from £49 to £99 depending on which car park you chose and OFF airport parking will cost you anything from approx. £37 to £88. Compare those parking only prices to a cost of only £68 for a double room at the Cresta Court Hotel (3 star) which is approx. 30 mins from the airport which also includes two weeks parking at a secure car park next to the airport. You could also choose the Crown Plaza Hotel (4 star) which is located on the airport itself with two weeks parking at the hotel for only £91.
Parking for Disabled Badge Holders
February 25, 2010
Are you an orange/blue badge holder or have special needs that may require wheelchair access looking for airport car Parking?
If so, I hope this short article will help to explain what options are available and how you can go about making enquiries or bookings to ensure you have a comfortable and hassle free journey to the airport.
When planning a holiday or trip that involves air travel you need to know that the whole journey is accessible before you set out. Encountering a problem at any stage of the journey such as not being able to find assistance, or a particular vehicle not being accessible could ruin the whole experience, leave you stranded or even stop you from travelling altogether.
Whether you are a disabled traveller or require wheelchair access it is worth taking the time and trouble to plan your travel arrangements before you set out, so that you can enjoy your trip and the journey itself can be a pleasure.
If you are flying from a UK airport you may require airport car Parking. Recently I had an email from a customer enquiring about disabled Parking facilities. To my surprise we had very little information on our website and when I looked on other websites there was also a lack of information.
This led me to spend some considerable time putting together all the information a traveller with special needs may require when considering their car Parking arrangements at the airport. I have covered the five main UK airports below which account for over 60% of passenger traffic. I will be updating our information for other airports in due course, meanwhile you can visit our website…
www.Parking4less.co.uk
for the most up to date information regarding your departure airport.
Please note: at all UK airports, for security reasons, the blue badge (previously orange badge) scheme applies in car parks only. There is no waiting period outside the terminal buildings and no vehicles can be left unattended. Prices and information correct at date of publication (October 2005).

Parking at Durham Airport
February 16, 2010
Six miles east of Darlington, on the A67 you can find the Durham-Tees Valley Airport. The facility is easy accessible from the A1 motorway, A19 and A66.
Mostly I use Durham airport for short business voyages. As a sales manager I travelled the last 18 months regularly out of Durham to mainly domestic destinations. As I always go to the airport by car I also parked it each time at one of available parking sites. As a regular passenger I took the time to try most of the car parks. I guess by now I know quite a lot about the services which the parking agencies at the airport offer. Hope you find this article useful and that it might save you some time and cash.
These days the internet represents plenty of new marketing options and as long as I use Durham airport I always pre-booked my car parking online. Not only is it very easy to do but you also will save some cash as the better internet suppliers offer competitive Durham airport parking prices. Parking at the airport is rather expensive so it’s pleasant to save a couple of pounds on it.
Similar levels of services are offered by all of the parking agencies. They only differences between them are where they are located and the price they charge for their services. I always based the choice of the parking site on the fees and how much time there would be left before I had to check in. The most important factor to consider is how much time you have before checking-in for your flight and how much money you wish to spend on parking.
The two most convenient options at Durham airport include The Spa Hotel’s car park and the On Airport Parking facility. The Spa Hotel runs a car parking which is situated on-site at the airport facility. Checking your car in is a very easy affair. Once you arrive you just have to go to the reception and they will park your car for you. When you return from your break or business trip you can get your car keys back from the reception.
Opposite the terminal building you can find the on airport car park. From the park it is just a short walk to the airport terminal. The amenity is very well-secured with around the clock security patrols and advanced CCTV equipment. The check in procedure is straightforward. Once you arrive at the park you have to obtain a voucher from the barrier and keep this with you. Upon your return you exchange the entry ticket at the information counter which is positioned in the terminal inside the terminal. Easy does it!
After 18 months of frequently making use of the Durham-Tees Valley airport I know that by now I tried all the other parking options. For your benefit, mentioned below is a good selection of websites. I use these all the time and never experienced any difficulties with them.
Flight to SEMA 2009
November 5, 2009
Yesterday Margie and I made our first trip in our C182 to Las Vegas for the SEMA show.
After checking the latest weather briefings online and filing our VFR flight plan, we walked out to our hanger fifty feet outside our front door, did a preflight inspection and taxied onto our runway for departure.
After departure we climbed and leveled out at 8500 feet for the one and a half hour flight.
My iPhone seldom works from the air, but Margie’s Blackberry maintained a solid connection throughout the flight as she was sending text messages to our daughter, her friends and my flight instructor keeping them all updated on her first cross country in N918RR.
After landing at KHND Margie gave me a high five for a perfect landing
We grabbed a rental car, checked into our hotel and she then dropped me off at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the SEMA show.
I taped several interviews with my pals at Escort Radar and Leon from Blinder (see www.RadarRoy.com)
I then caught a cab back to our Hotel and Margie and I met up with Caleb Jennings at the Rio Seafood Buffet for dinner.
Caleb is one of the brightest and committed Internet Marketers that I’ve ever met and works directly for the legionary Joe Sugarman.
After diner Margie and I headed to the Palazzo to see Jersey Boys.
Growing up in Belleville NJ and having a neighbor that was “connected” I met Frankie Valli several times when he came back to the neighborhood for his Sunday family dinners, so I was able to relate to many of the situations and characters that were portrayed during the show.
After the show Margie and I both agreed that we would be making another trip to Vegas to see another showing, we enjoyed it so much.
This morning we both got up early and drove to the Wedding Chapel that our daughter Erin will be getting married at in February. As it was early in the morning, the chapel was not yet open, but we both commented on how attractive the grounds were and how they had all the amenities all in one location.
We then headed back to KHND (Henderson Executive Airport), returned the rental car and loaded up our suitcase into N918RR for departure.
While flying over Kingman I checked our weather reporting station at our home base and found out that the winds we blowing at 15 knots, gusting to 25 from the southeast. As this is the standard approach for our airpark I diverted to E25 (Wickenburg Airport).
A friend of ours met us at the Airport and drove us back home and I returned a few hours later when the winds became more manageable to land at our home.
I caught Margie several times covering her eyes when she began questioning my flying abilities or getting rocked around when we hit turbulence south of Kingman, but all in all she was a great champ on her first cross country trip in N918RR
Copper State Fly-In; 2009
October 25, 2009
Today a friend of mine John Feck came out to 0AZ5 to fly out with me to the CopperState Fly-In located at KCZG in Casa Grande, Az.
At 0830 hours we departed my home (0AZ5) a flew towards Buckeye and around the White Tanks and South Mountain to avoid “bravo” airspace and then headed toward I-10.
Just west of Firebird Lake we intercepted I-10 and headed southeast to the transition point for entry to the airshow.
We circled the transition point twice before CopperState approach cleared us to KCZG for left traffic runway 5.
John and I took in the sites at the event checking out hundreds of aircraft, the vendors and of course the food. John took several photos and I hope to have those posted here soon.
At 1500 hours we departed and took the southwest route back home, into Buckeye and then north.
