Placerville Airport 80th Birthday Expo Mission Statement October 3, 2009 Located below the snow line and above the fog line the Placerville Airport is a logistical dream come true. With operations ranging from flight instruction to life-flight, the Placerville Airport shines tried and true as an invaluable asset to our communities. To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Placerville Airport, fundraise for the Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado County Western Slope and involve the general public in our local airport and its operations we are hosting the Placerville Airport Day tentatively set for October 3, 2009. For the past 80 years the Placerville Airport has supported operations such as flight instruction, military flight training, aircraft maintenance, fueling, business jet operations, fire-fighting, aircraft sales, life-flight, business meetings and more. During the 1980s, the Air Force flew the C-130 Cargo aircraft into Placerville for training purposes and now the California Army National Guard regularly flies their UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters as well as King Air fixed-wing aircraft into the Placerville Airport for training purposes. Another service provided is from CALSTAR, the California Shock Trauma Air Rescue operation now based at Placerville. CALSTAR provides rapid air response and rescue in the form of Life Flight to those most in need of medical care to our immediate as well as surrounding areas. The Placerville Airport remains irreplaceable and it is our goal
