Prince William Graduates As Search & Rescue Pilot: [Sky News]

Sky’s Royal Correspondent, Sarah Hughes, Royal correspondent, reports that Prince William has graduated as a fully operational search and rescue pilot after completing his RAF flight training on 17 September 2010. Flight Lieutenant Wales, as he is known, was presented with a certificate and his squadron badge by Group Captain Jonathan Dixon at RAF Valley in Anglesey. He will now join 22 Squadron – C flight as a co-pilot of a Sea King helicopter. During 70 hours of live flying and 50 hours of simulator training he has learned to manoeuvre the aircraft with pinpoint accuracy. Prince William will have the job of rescuing stranded mountaineers, swimmers and others in distress. He said: “I am really delighted to have completed the training course with my fellow students. The course has been challenging, but I have enjoyed it immensely.
